The '''Nether''' is another dimension of Craftland. The Craftland Nether has all the features of the Vanilla Minecraft Nether; however, [http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Zombie_pigman Zombie Pigmen] are observed to be constantly aggressive in Craftland. The rules of Craftland do not apply to the Nether; griefing is allowed and pvp is on. Players may kill each other, blow up TNT wherever they want or grief anything that is not protected by WorldGuard. For these reasons, there aren't many structures in the Nether.

== Advantages of the Nether ==

Going to the nether has the following advantages:
* You may find Glowstone or Soul Sand. There is also plenty of netherrack. Netherrack isn't usually considered a good looking building material, so try to avoid using it for your constructions. It is useful if you are working with fire as it burns indefinitely after being ignited and can be switched (to burning or not burning) using redstone circuits (just power or unpower it with redstone to ignite it or stop the fire).
* You may find Zombie Pigmen and Ghasts. Zombie Pigmen drop pork. Killing a Ghast during mob hunt will count as (+6) for your score, unlike any other monster. There are achievements connected with killing many zombie Pigmen and Ghasts.
* You can find plenty of lava sources in the nether.
* You can build efficient mushrooms farms in the nether as the dim light is ideal for mushrooms and overworld monsters will not spawn. They will never drop when being placed. Just flatten a large area, place some mushrooms and idle to let them grow. Farming mushrooms also lets your herbalism skill increase fast.

== Traveling to the Nether ==

There are many ways to get to the Nether:

*Make an obsidian portal and light it with a flint and steel, or ask to use another person's portal.
*If you're able to use someone's portal to visit the Nether, you may make a warp, thus eliminating the need for a Nether Portal.
*use someone else's warp.
*Set your home in the Nether and use /home.
*Teleport to a player in the nether (if allowed).

Gold dungeons are located in the [[Aether]] and contain the best loot among all [[Dungeon]]s. Their appearance is always the same: a floating, round island with [[Golden Oak Trees]] on top. The entrance to the gold dungeon is on the side of the island. Having a [[moa|Black Moa]] significantly simplifies finding those dungeons.

= The Boss =

The gold dungeon itself is just one square room with the boss inside. That boss is a fire monster/Sun God. Right clicking it once will close the entrance and start the boss fight. It is not possible to kill the gold boss with any weapon. Instead, he will sometimes shoot blue frozen orbs in random directions, which you have to hit to "shoot" them in the direction of the gold boss. If the orb hits the gold boss he loses health, turns frozen for a second and summons a small minion. That [[minion]] looks similar to the gold boss but behaves differently. He will not shoot any orbs but instead attack you directly. The player takes damage upon "touching" the [[minion]]. However, he can be killed with a Gravitite/diamond sword easily. After hitting the boss enough with frozen orbs, he will die and drop a [[Gold Key]]. The entrance to the gold dungeon and another entrance to a secret room will open. The secret room contains a chest which can be opened with the [[Gold Key]].

= Strategy =

The gold dungeon is rather easy to beat. You will need the following items:
* A [[Gravitite sword]]/Diamond sword.
* About two buckets filled with water.

Before fighting the boss, create a temporary warp outside the dungeon to quickly return in case you die.

While fighting the boss stick to the walls. Always keep an eye on the gold boss. Touching him will cause massive damage and quickly kill you. As long as you can avoid touching him, it's relatively easy to survive. If you take any damage or catch fire. Afterwards (if you are on fire) drop some water below you to stop the fire and pick the water up again. Remember to keep an eye on the boss while healing/dropping the water as the fire won't do that much damage to you (in contrast to the boss) and the water will evaporate if the boss comes in contact with it.

Wait for one of the frozen orbs being in a good position to "shoot" it at the boss([[Valkyrie lance]] may help, giving you range to hit the orb). Do not try to chase every frozen orb as that will just get you distracted and quickly kill you, especially as the orbs have about the same speed as the walking speed of a player. When a minion pops up, just kill it with the [[gravitite sword]] (takes about 3-4 hits) Repeat the whole process until the boss is dead.

Having a [[Hammer of Notch]] makes it even easier to fight the boss as then you can kill the minions from the distance. Additionally you can hit the frozen orbs with the hammer's ranged attack([[Valkyrie lance]] may help too,as mentioned). Using SEVERAL Hammers of Notch allows you to simply spam them at the boss, making the fight extremely easy. Note: You cannot spam at the boss with several Hammers on CraftLand. Unknown about Vanilla Aether.

Portals crafted by the player do not require the corner blocks; instead, gold or diamond blocks may be placed in the corners for aesthetic purposes. 

== Building the Portal ==

The Aether Portal is constructed in a manner similar to the [http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Nether_Portal Nether Portal]. At least 10 glowstone blocks are required (14 including the corners). The glowstone blocks are stacked five blocks tall and four blocks wide. Once built, the portal may then be activated with a water bucket. 

== Chunk Loading & Unloading ==

In '''single-player modes''', or if distant from other players, moving between dimensions will cause the chunks around the area you left to be unloaded. This effectively stops time in the dimension you left, until you return. This affects all ongoing processes, including animal and plant growth, furnace smelting, brewing, and even primed TNT. This also means that when dying in the Aether (and respawning in the Overworld), your items will remain until 5 minutes after you return to the Aether, or nearby regions thereof (the chunk update radius also applies in the Aether). Golden Aechor Plant

This is a rare plant added by [[User:Nidefawl|Nidefawl]]. It is similar to the [[Aechor Plant]] but much rarer. If killed it will drop a [[Golden Aechor Petal]] which when fed to your [[Moa]] it will instantly grow it. These items are rare, even to long time players, and can go for as much as 10,000 coins in the current economy. These items are less often then not used as soon as the player gets one, because they are extremely useful.

Gravitite Ore is a rare ore; the Aether's equivalent of Diamonds. When mined, it drops one Gravitite Ore. It will float upwards if there is space above. It appears as Holystone speckled with pink ores. The ore can be enchanted in an [[Enchanter]] to create [[Enchanted Gravitite]]. [[Enchanted Gravitite]] looks like a pink Diamond Block. [[Enchanted Gravitite]] will only float upwards when powered by redstone. Gravitite tools have a unique ability-when right-clicked on a block they specialize in, that block will float upwards until it hits another block or hits the ceiling of the world, where it will break and drop as a resource. Using this ability still consumes durability-in fact, it consumes more than normal.
