A Name Tag is an item from the base game and can be renamed within an Anvil. The player can then right click an entity (not all entities) to give it a name. Upon naming an entity, the tag is used up. It cannot be used on Hostile mobs.
Naming an entity prevents the entity from despawning.
How to Obtain
You can obtain the Name Tag through the Arena NPC for the price of 3 Boss Medals. You can also obtain the Name Tag through mining and finding a vanilla dungeon, as it is a loot chance in the vanilla dungeon.
