Northern Line (Greycliff Continental Railway) |
Stronghold is a station on the Northern Line of the Greycliff Continental Railway. This is an in-fill station, being added after the line to Mining Co was completed, and having no warp.
Platform and track configuration
Stronghold station has two tracks and one island platform. The exit from the platform leads to the stronghold.
Stronghold is notable for having an unusually long platform, and it is a result of the placement of the station. Only the western five meters of the platform are used for passenger boarding and disembarking, while the rest of it is part of the passageway to the stronghold.
History
This station was added to the Northern Line after the line between Arcadia and the next stop, Mining Co, was completed. The stronghold was discovered, and the station was built. Prior to the station being built, the stretch between Arcadia and Mining Co was the longest distance between two stations on the Greycliff Continental Railway.
At first, this station was closed and all trains passed through without stopping. However, soon after, it was officially opened as a station stop on the Northern Line.
In January 2015, Oakwoods station was added between this station and Arcadia.
