Grass is a block that is generated normally across vanilla biomes in Minecraft. This is one of the most common blocks next to 
Dirt and 
Stone. Grass enables the spawning of:
Bare in mind these mobs will only spawn in World, New World, Deepvale and Greycliff.
Grass will spread to adjacent Dirt blocks just like how 
Aether Grass spreads to 
Aether Dirt. Sheep will eat this grass as food leaving behind a block of Dirt.
