Cold Aerclouds come in forms of medium to large, strip shaped clouds. Players will sink 1 block down, into the aercloud; items will do the same. If you fall onto a 2 blocks, or more, of aercloud, you will not suffer damage. Falling onto an aercloud without a block under it will not damage you too.
