The new world is one of new worlds that came with the server update to 1.9 pre1.
This world contains all the new features of the 1.9 pre1 update of minecraft self.
You can travel to this world by making a sandstone portal and light it with a flint & steel.
Or by warping to /warp aether, this warp takes you to the spawn place of this world.
Currently when you make a portal it whould take you to a cave under an ocean.
