Icestone is a fairly common block found in the Aether. To successfully mine icestone, a player needs at least a Holystone Pickaxe. When mined, icestone has the same sound effect as glass breaking. On placement, icestone will freeze water into ice and lava into obsidian. Icestone, along with Skyroot Plank and Holystone can be used to craft a Freezer.
