Northern Line (Greycliff Continental Railway) |
Fort Greycliff is a station on the Northern Line of the Greycliff Continental Railway at a fort in northeastern Greycliff called Fort Greycliff. It was the terminal of the Northern Line for a period of time before the line was extended eastward to Scenic View.
Platform and track configuration
Fort Greycliff has two tracks and two side platforms that are separated by a wall. Both platforms have a spiral staircase up to the top level of the fort, where the exit is. The station occupies the southernmost end of the fort, while the northern part of the fort is unoccupied.
This is one of the few stations with wide side platforms (2 meters each). These were necessary due to the overall layout of the station in its building.
History
This station serves a fort which is generally not visited often. Even though Fort Greycliff has a public warp, the station still receives low ridership, similarly to Greece Square station to the west.
