The Name Changer is an NPC that was added in Patch 8.8 and is a replacement to the "ask a mod" formula for getting name changes.
The Name Changer requests the player to make a non-taken, mature, name. Once this is done, the player must pay forward 300,000 coins or a Player Name Change Tag!
- You can visit the Name Changer by using the /docks command in-game!
Process
Once a name is submitted, staff members (Helper and higher) are able to check the name and determine whether it's valid/mature.
- Confirm - If a staff member confirms the name change, the player's name is changed and that's the end of it.
- Deny - If a staff member denies the name change, the player will be fined a portion of the initial payment (if paid with coins) and refunded the rest (if paid with an item, the player will get their item back). Additionally, the player will be unable to submit another name change for some time.
